It has recently undergone an extensive building project to expand the school and enable two-form entry. Kentish Town Football Academy (KTFA) is a successful community run youth club based in Camden, that provides training to around 80 children aged seven to 13 each week. KTFA provides affordable, professional football training by a team of dedicated volunteer and part-time coaches. Many of the children go on to trial with professional clubs. 1st Barnet Scout Group is an active Scout group in East Barnet that offers training, leadership and outdoor activities to over 100 young people. This grant will fund the building of a wall structure alongside a brook. Urban Community Projects (UCP) works on some of the most deprived social housing estates in Camden and has over 10 years’ experience working with social housing residents to inspire and build new opportunities for them. One Mic, One Life project was created in response to the increase in gun and knife crime among young people in Camden, to raise awareness. It will run four weeks of workshops including visual arts, leadership and mentoring. Futures Theatre Company was established in 1992 to challenge unfairness towards women through theatre. Its forum productions entail 50-minute theatre productions followed by 40-minute forum workshops in which young audiences stop and change the dialogue in order to explore actions and consequences, decision-making, stereotyping and peer pressure. Gospel Oak is one of the largest primary schools in Camden and rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted. It provides musical enrichment opportunities, with all pupils participating in regular music lessons from the age of four and progress to play in the school’s brass band when they reach Years 5 and 6. The Harrow Hill Trust was established over 50 years ago to care for the heritage and historical value of Harrow and support a sustainable community. This grant will support four local schools to participate in this year’s May Day Festival, ‘Be Green on the Green’, which aims to raise awareness of the Harrow Hill environment, its wildlife and wider environmental issues. Preston Manor is a large comprehensive, all-through school in Wembley, which joined a co-operative Academy in 2013. Somali students make up approximately 10% of the student population. The Somali Community Outreach Worker (SCOW) engages harder-to-reach families one day per week by providing translation and supporting the school to build relationships with the families. Successfully piloted by the Tri-Borough Virtual School in 2016, the Open Doors project aims to introduce foster families and looked after children to new cultural and creative opportunities. South Harrow Christian Fellowship (SHCF) is a small church based in South Harrow, with a specific focus on inclusion and community development. Most of its services are provided by local Muslim and Tamil communities. This grant will help fund two weekly clubs, a Kids Club for children aged five to nine and Blaze, a club for 13 to 19 year olds. The Rhythm Studio Foundation provides opportunities to children and young people from all backgrounds to access music. It provides scholarships to talented young people aged 11 to 18, who would be unable to access music without financial support. This grant will fund pop and rock workshops for Year 5 and Year 6 pupils over ten weeks, culminating in a live performance. WestPoint-Sustainable Community Development (WestPoint) is a small Somali-led charity which aims to improve social inclusion and support people from disadvantaged backgrounds. The Youth Mentoring Project will work with young offenders, those at risk of offending or who have shown signs of joining a gang, aged 13 to 25. The Prison Advice and Care Trust works to support those in prison, with convictions and their families. Following a successful pilot, the Building Stronger Families Worker will continue to support families to maintain and build their relationships while a relative is in prison, and create family-friendly bonding opportunities for children to visit a parent in prison. In-Deep was founded in 2002 to provide support to isolated members of the community on estates in Westminster. This programme will consist of Saturday music classes designed for young people with special educational needs in Westminster. Sessions will be run by a qualified and experienced music therapist, with support from trained volunteers. Elsley Primary School recently expanded to become a four-form entry, non-selective primary school, rated good by Ofsted in 2012. It has taken the lead for a cluster of five primary schools across central and North Brent looking to introduce a Forest School provision. Ealing
Formed in 2005, HADEA provides support, information and advocacy to the disabled and elderly from black, minority ethnic and refugee communities in Ealing. The Sunshine Health project in Southall is providing positive activities for up to 20 disabled Somali, Eritrean and Arabic-speaking children from Ealing. Activities include water safety and swimming lessons, sports and outdoor educational sessions.

Following a capital project to transform a previously unusable, boggy area of the school’s land into a multi-use games area, this grant will cover the cost of the final games court surface area and lines. In its twelfth year, South Westminster Community Festival is an annual fortnight-long festival which aims to showcase local community organisations, charities, culture, talent and people. Founded in 1953, Theatre Centre tours productions and delivers workshops to children and schools nationally, with a focus on reaching children in disadvantaged areas that have low engagement with the arts. The ‘Level Playing’ project will be delivered by creative professionals to Year 5 and 6 pupils in 10 schools in Barnet, Brent and Camden. Dollis Infant School is a large, three-form entry school in Barnet for children aged three to seven. Many children do not have opportunities to play outdoors at home. Eritrean Parents and Children’s Association (EPCA) was established in the 1990s in response to significant numbers of Eritrean refugees and asylum-seekers forming a community in Kensington and Chelsea. The mentoring and peer support programme will provide bi-weekly access to two experienced youth workers for both young people with behavioural issues and at risk of exclusion and their families. The Sudanese Community and Information Centre was founded in 1989 to support Sudanese nationals, migrants and refugees living in London to integrate into the wider community. Founded in 1971, W11 Opera aims to introduce young people (aged nine to 18) in West London to the world of opera. Each year its Community Programme commissions and performs an opera with a cast of 70 to 80 young people. This year’s production, The Price, will focus on the suffragette movement. The grant will fund outreach family workshops and workshops within eight local primary schools, in addition to four bursary places for children in need of financial support.
